I’ve been using the Brita faucet mount for 2 years now. Our water is VERY hard, with sulfur smells and rust, and the Brita works as well as our reverse osmosis unit, which has three in-line filters. Plus, it doesn’t slow down like the reverse osmosis unit does when using lots of water (family gatherings, etc). It is NOT as fast as normal tap water, so don’t go thinking you’ll get tap-water speed out of such an intense filter. I have to replace the filter approximately every 2-3 months, depending on usage. Very handy when the r/o unit starts running out of water. I tend to use both the r/o and the Brita when filling a pot for boiling, etc just to make it go faster. I’ve used both the PUR and Brita, Brita works better on our water, although, for best taste, I also run it through a pitcher filter (as I said, our water is BAD). Tastes better than spring water!

For well over 10 years I have used Brita, up until 1 year ago. Sadly I can no longer recommend Brita.
Brita once has silver particles in their filters to kill pathogens. No more. But the pathetic FDA can likely be blamed for that.
The real problem with Brita and most other water filters is that they do not remove or even reduce the amount of fluoride in the water at all. As more and more American communities are being informed of the realities of Fluoride in our water, they are removing it from their water supply. Until your community stops putting fluoride in the water, your family is being poisoned by one of the most dangerous chemicals known to man, and the Brita leaves it all in the water. I now use one of the only filters that truly purifies, not filters, the water. I won’t name it in order to remain objective in my review. Perhaps a google search can help you.
So you thought fluoride helps your teeth? Think again. Do some research! It’s a deadly toxic poison IN THE FORM that’s in your water! Sorry Brita, yes you have the best taste I have ever found, but unless you get rid of the one real poison in our water, I have to use something that will give me non-toxic water.

This filter is much easier to use than some other faucet-mount models. Installing the filter system is relatively easy, and replacing filters is even easier. Amazon’s price (for filter system as well as replacement filters) is the lowest I could find online or retail, especially when I get “super saver” free shipping. The only problem with my filter system is the green “filter-is-in-use-and-is-working” indicator light occaisionally stops lighting up for a few days at a time, but then works fine again. I’m not sure whether or not this means that the red “time-to-change-filter” light comes on later than it should. But so far it hasn’t bothered me enough to call customer service…

We previously used PUR filters on our kitchen faucet but their effectiveness declined more and more so we decided to switch to Brita. We are very satisfied with Brita. The filtered water tastes about the same but the Brita lasts longer, is cheaper and easier to replace on the faucet.

I have been using the Brita Filter for a number of years. It makes the water drinkable from the faucet. I also use it for making tea or coffee. Prior to buying the Filter I had to buy water now I just use water from the filtered faucet. Very good to have.
